Non-metallic dental prosthetics: Amann Girrbach adds high-performance JUVORA polymer to its CAD/CAM range

Dental laboratories using Amann Girrbach´s CAD/CAM systems now have a premium alternative to metal dental prosthetics at their disposal. The company, a leading supplier of digital dental prosthetics, is including the PEEK from JUVORA™ in its range of CAD/CAM-compatible products. The name of the new product is ‘Ceramill PEEK’, and it is manufactured exclusively by the British company JUVORA, which also developed the JUVORA Dental Disc.
The new polymer solution is suitable for the digital manufacture of fixed and removable dentures, such as implant-supported superstructures, attachment or screw-retained restorations and also crowns and bridges including secondary and telescope crowns. “Thanks to partnering with JUVORA, we can now offer our customers a high-quality solution for non-metallic dental prosthetics under our own brand ‘Ceramill PEEK’, says Thomas Stiefenhofer, Product Manager at Amann Girrbach. “The decision in favour of JUVORA is primarily due to the safety aspect, i.e. the 15 years of clinical history of the material”.

The German Dental Association estimates up to 10% of men and up to 15% of women in Germany are affected by these conditions, especially in the age group between 35 and 45 years.
